Creating a wedding website is kind of scary. It’s like your big debut to the online world. Sometimes it feels like unnecessary bragging, but really it’s just helpful for the people of the world that lose their mail or want to be reminded of your details on the go. It’s really just a practical thing, and if you choose to forgo actual paper invites, it can be a major time and money saver.
I also think it makes a good catch-all for all the answers and infos people would otherwise have to text your for. They know they can just look it up and get their questions answered (and do it again when they inevitably forget two months later). I also love it, like I love most everything else about wedding planning, because it’s sort of a scrapbook. It holds engagement photos, sweet words from family and friends and details that one day you might forget.
That being said, unless you plan on continually buying your domain, this scrapbook is temporary and should be printed out and saved with all your other mems.
I’ll do a longer post on where to get your wedding website and how you publish it, but for now, here is all the info you should or could include on it. I also want to add a personal preference. I think having both people in the couple write something (maybe how they met or each other’s bios) at some point in the wedding website is so sweet. It feels more like a collaborative effort, and it is always nice to read both perspectives.
* Means you don’t necessarily have to include these things. They’re additional bits that some people include and others don’t.
