I really don’t think it’s possible to go on a bachelorette party and not have fun. I mean I can see how a bunch of women hanging out together could go horribly wrong (and dramatic), but both of the ones I’ve been on have been a blast.

Last weekend, I attended my sister-in-law’s bachelorette in Charleston, South Carolina. The MOH’s planned it to perfection and we had several activities planned and reservations made to ensure that we were always busy, full and drunk. That’s a quality weekend if you ask me!

I have been wanting to do a blog post on bachelorette welcome bags for a long time (ever since so many people checked out my bridesmaids’ box), so this trip presented the perfect opportunity and our cute hotel room was the perfect backdrop.

I partnered with several Etsy shops to showcase all the ingredients you need for a perfect bachelorette bag, but before I get to those, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • If you’re not the MOH, and randomly want to do this for the weekend, just make sure you run everything through them. They may already have a plan for the weekend as far as the theme, hashtag and colors.
  • If you’re the MOH or coming up with the theme that’s a great thing to carry over into the bachelorette bags. Here are a few common ones to get you started:
    • Last Fling Before the Ring
    • Last Sail Before the Veil
    • Bride Tribe
    • Bride Squad
    • Drunk in Love
    • Whiskey Bent; Veil Bound
    • Bride’s Last Ride
    • Nacho Average Bride
  • Try to stay in line or compliment the bachelorette shirts if you’re getting those. That way the accessories you order will be able to be worn that day. For example, I knew we had blue shirts so I tried to stick to white and gold for the accessories.
  • Make sure you set a budget. This can get pretty pricey if you buy all big ticket items and don’t spread in inexpensive ingredients like bottled water, printables, etc.
  • A lot of Etsy shops sell bachelorette stuff in bulk, so keep that in mind as well.
  • Make sure your contents work with the location and the activities planned (is it beachy or urban, will you be at the beach or walking a lot, etc.)
  • Based on this see if you’ll be in the hotel/house a lot and if you’ll want on-the-go-games and accessories or things like cups and shot glasses that will be used inside.
  • Try to fit the contents with the bride’s style and not yours (is she preppy or hipster, does she prefer silly or elegant, etc.).
  • You should also consider her favorite colors.
  • Make sure you think about how attendees are getting back home before spending money on things they may have to just throw away at the end of the trip (will they have limited suitcase room, will they be unable to travel with liquids, etc.).

Now let’s get to the good stuff! Below is a list of what I included in the bags and how we used them as well as additional options for you guys to choose from.

Contents of our bags:

  • Bride/Bride Tribe Tote Bags (Design Twenty Five): these were a great way to keep everything together as we handed them out. A few of the attendees even wore them out to bars because they served as the perfect carry-all for our bar crawl + ghost tour day.

  • Custom shot glasses (California Caligraphy): Since the tote bags were all the same, we laid these cute shot glasses out on top of them so we knew who each bag belonged too. I thought these were a great thing that people could enjoy after the weekend since they had their names and not “bride tribe.”

  • Bride/Bride Tribe Plastic Cups (Rock Made Shop): If you think you’ll be drinking in the room a lot or if you just want something to sip your water out of that’s cute… these cups are perfect! They can’t be broken in a enthusiastic cheers, and they’re pretty in all the SnapChats.

  • Printable Bachelorette Games (Pretty Printables Ink):  This is one of the least expensive, but most fun things you can include. Pretty Printables Ink sells this set of three bachelorette games. I had them printed on card stock so they were sturdier, and we brought them along with us on our pub crawl. We played at times when we were sitting around waiting for the beers to sink it. It provided lots of laughs and embarrassment all around.

  • Bride/Bride Tribe pins (Beckon Joy): We wore these little pins both days and nights. They’re not obnoxious so you don’t feel silly wearing them and they don’t block your shirts and outfits like sashes would.

  • Bride/Bride Tribe Tattoos (Tats4Now): Another fun addition is to include tattoos. We wore these with our shirts and again they were subtle and sweet. We had everyone put them on the same arm so we could take photos together (which we inevitably forgot about, but the intent was there). I liked these, because they stayed on all day, but also came off easily with a little scrubbing. That saves you from accidentally wearing them into work on Monday.

  • Life Support Recovery Shot: When Life Support reached out to me about their recovery shots, I knew they’d be a perfect addition to our bachelorette bags. They’re seem kind of fun and silly when you first find them, but eventually make you feel seriously better when you need them. Definitely comes in handy on a weekend like this.

  • Custom shirts: My sis-in-law did the shirt, but they’re pretty hysterical, huh? This is the perfect way to debut them though, because there’s a nice reveal moment when they pull them out of the bags.
