In my head, I would assess our level of closeness based on whether this girl friend would be in my bridal party and vice versa. I loved the idea of having a group of women that I adored surrounding me on wedding day. I will write a future post on how to pick your bridesmaids (and gently let down those you don’t have room for) another day, but for today I will talk about asking your main chicks in a cute way you’ve probably seen before: bridesmaids’ boxes.
 
Though I chose another route (I’ll explain why later), I have seen so many different examples of bridesmaids’ boxes, and I would assume that they are loved by all! How could one not love opening up a box of mini-goodies?! With so many examples out there, I thought I’d narrow it down to the five main components you need plus find all the stuff you need for it. This way you just have to click the links and purchase and you’re good to go. I even added some boxes and fillers at the bottom in case even that selection is too overwhelming. Listen. I get it. Wedding planning is a lot. Leave it to this old married hag to swoop in and save the day!
 
One warning: these can get pricey. That’s one of the main reasons I didn’t go with this. I wanted to purchase all the gifts from my own budget (aka not my mom’s money for the wedding) which was/always is severely limited. I also had nine bridesmaids and two flower girls to ask, so even a $10 thing for 11 people is expensive. Decide on your budget in advance for gifts and ask in the best way you can. I tried to make my little handmade friendship bracelets (I had a camp wedding) and cards as personal as I could to make up for the lack of champagne.
 
But if you have money for mini-champagnes… on behalf of your future bridesmaids, um GO FOR IT. They can’t not be thrilled with that.
 
Here’s how you DIY your own boxes. Let me know if you put something else in them or have any questions!
 
1. Add something that asks: Here are the Rifle Paper Co. cards I chose. These are the exact ones I used. They also have a MOH and a flower girl one. I am a sucker for all things Rifle, so I will vote that brand every time. There are so many cards out there though, so match it to your personality. Whether you go with silly or pretty, just make sure there is plenty of room in the middle for a heartfelt message. This is the time to gush about your friend and let them know how valuable they are to you. Take the opportunity and make it count!

2. Add something that’s personal: I honestly use the word “personal” in every wedding post, but I’m just so over boring, fancy weddings that say nothing about the couple…
 
I would include something that could only be given to this person, i.e. a photograph or some form of token that only they would understand.

• Photograph of you both
• Something with her monogram/ initials/ name
• An inside joke/ special token/ something nostalgic
• Lyrics to a song you both love

3. Add something that’s sweet: Whether it’s edible or not, everyone loves something that smells heavenly plus it will hopefully infuse the whole box and make it smell wonderful when they open it.

• A scented candle
• A bath bomb
• Pieces of candy
• A bag of caramel popcorn

4. Add something that’s pretty: You can go a couple of different routes with this. One way is to pick something you want them to wear in the wedding, i.e. a nail polish color. This way, it’s both a treat and an expense they no longer have. Another way is to just pick out something pretty that they probably don’t buy too often for themselves.

• Jewelry

5. Add something that’s drinkable: Like I said everyone likes champagne or really mini-bottles of anything. Pair with a pair straw, because it’s cute. Not that anyone would stick a straw in their mini-Patron bottle, but whatever.
 
Here are some options, including non-alcoholic for any preggos/non-drinkers/flower girls you might ask:

• Mini champagne bottles
• Mini other alcohol bottles
• Bottle of IZZE
• Bottle of the prepackaged Starbucks iced coffee

I got a little carried away looking for pretty little trinkets to put in a bridesmaid’s box, so I have included a few below. They are all under $10, because this sh*t gets expensive when you buy for multiple people!
