1. Garden

We’re talking floral heaven. Garden themes are typically romantic and involve putting like 60% of the budget in the florist.  I think this is likely easier to pull off in spring, but could be created in any season with the right flower choices.

I just want to make it clear that I’m not against rustic… in fact, you probably could classify my wedding theme as rustic, so no haters here.

BUT I will say that most of what you find out there on the internet and Pinterest is centered around rustic or barn weddings, and that’s just not everyone’s vibe.

This little round up are some alternatives to that theme that may be more your vibe. They can be relevant to your venue or they can stand on your own. For example, if you’re future hubby and you are beach-obsessed, but you live in the midwest, you can still have a beach-theme wedding.

As long as it’s what you both want, it’s totally up to you! Comment on this post with other themes I’m missing to help future couples make their choice too.

2. Celestial

Seeing stars? I love the idea of a starry night wedding with warm blues and gold accents. I think it’s unique enough that most people have probably never been to a wedding with this theme which is always a fun thing.

3. Modern

Whether it’s an urban, industrial or mid-century, a modern wedding is typically full of beautiful architecture and sculpted metals.

4. Glamorous

If you happened to see Chiara Ferragni’s wedding… that was glamour. It’s extravagant, elegant, luxurious and all those other expensive-sounding words. That being said, I think a simple glamour or a 20’s theme wedding could be pulled off without breaking the bank.

5. Vintage

One of my favorite things about vintage weddings is that it often involves the bride and her crew searching for each piece and carefully curating their own decor. It’s incredibly personal and thoughtful and probably a fun wedding planning adventure.

It’s also probably a time-consuming one, so to each their own…

6. Beach

You can go full-on nautical or just take the most distinct beachy traits and translate that into you theme. I picture it laid back, partially barefoot and flowy. Does that make sense or am I the worst wedding blogger ever?

7. Fairytale

This is partially a glamorous event and partially a whimsical event. This is MAGICAL and mystical and totally transports you to another world altogether.

8. Tropical

Palm leaves and pina coladas, baby. I feel like Hawaii destination weddings rock this theme frequently, but I can see it being done anywhere. Also, I feel like all bouquets must include this flower which is my new favorite for summer flower arrangements.

9. Bohemian

“Boho chic” is basically the other half of Pinterest wedding and it’s because bohemian weddings are just straight up cool. They feature everything from amazing rugs to macrame to bell sleeves to succulents. Pick a trendy thing and it’s probably in a boho wedding!

10. Seasonal

What I mean by this is that you can create a whole theme around the season your wedding is in. You can have Christmas trees in your winter wedding and burnt orange in your fall wedding. I think this is great theme for customizing however you want and for creating an environment that makes guests feel cozy and festive.
